Senegalese entrepreneurs introduce tech solutions to hospitality industry

HOW WE MADE IT IN AFRICA - October 29th, 2013

The Ndoye brothers started Xtreme Design and Engineering while the in US and relocated to Senegal’s capital Dakar last year. The company provides cloud based and mobile applications for the African hospitality industry.

“When we got back home it was obvious to us that we didn’t leave the US to come and just be employed at some company and sit behind the desk and work. If [that was] the case then we might as well have stayed in the US and made a better living. It was obvious to us that we wanted to create our own company.”

Teranga Hospitality offers affordable hotel solutions

CIO / EAST AFRICA - October 29th, 2013

Dining out in a restaurant usually sees one making an order with a waiter, who takes down the order on a notebook. They may then serve the order through a point of sale terminal(POS), or process the order directly from the notebook.
You can now make your order through a tablet. A waiter hands the client a tablet, the client goes through the menu, and selects what they will have. The order is then immediately processed as they hand the tablet back to the waiter, or to the next person on their table. The solution, developed by Teranga systems, is already rolling out in Dakar, Senegal.

Place Your Order in Restaurants via an iPad

AFRIQUE IT NEWS - July 7th, 2013

A Senegalese company by the name of Xtreme Design and Engineering is offering a solution called TerangaPOS which would allow restaurant customers to place their order straight from their tables using iPads. The tablet is used as a menu and allows the customer to place orders which are sent directly to the kitchen.

At the other side of the spectrum, the owner of the restaurant has a complete and easy system that enables him or her to make estimates, have data on sales, manage the inventory and the team.

This solution which is being used in over 20 points of sale all over West Africa, is an example of African know-how and Xtreme Senegal assures us that it is only the beginning.
